Whether you are a nature lover, an admirer of art or more of an architecture enthusiast, Gardens by the Bah will satisfy them all. Gardens by the Bay is an immense nature park consisting of 3 separate gardens , incorporating both outdoor and indoor gardens. A reason that played a major role in our final decision to visit Gardens by the Bay is the amount of flora and fauna that is showcased.
Many of my classmates and I are nature lovers and are extremely keen and interested in learning more about the variety of plants in Gardens by the Bay, especially indoor gardens such as the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome which relocate different climates and altitudes so we can experience the flora of a humid tropical mountain range or the cool-dry Mediterranean. And outdoor gardens that reflect the native equatorial environment of South East Asia. Undoubtedly, another reason for our visit to Gardens by the Bay is to relish in the magnificent and dazzling light show display on the prominent Supertrees. It was definitely a sight to behold!
In preparation for the visit to Gardens by the Bay, our class prepared a to-do list to be accomplished once we reach Gardens by the Bay. The to-do list include taking a class photo at every garden, noting down one new plant they have learned in that day and challenges such as spotting and recognising different flowers with only the help of minor hints. Additionally,we also discussed necessary items to bring to make the most of our visit such as cameras, pen and paper and water bottles. Lastly, we needed to gain our parents’ permission and we were ready as we would ever be for this visit. We were pumped up and were as keen as mustard for this visit.
On the day of the visit, everyone was extremely enthusiastic in accomplishing the to-do list and appreciating the plethora of faunas and floras. A key attraction on display was the Tulipmania Floral Display. It was an exquisite display to say the least.The theme of the attraction was fantasy, it draws visitors into the magical world of folklore, legends,fairy tales and nursery rhymes as told through the language of plants. We had the privilege to be captivated by a wide selection of tulips in a myriad of hues and forms. The atmosphere and mood was other-worldly, it felt as if we were in the setting of a fairytale. We also managed to meet popular fairy tale characters in the Flower Dome, and took a photo with them as a special memento. Last but not least, we could not take our eyes off when watching the special short dance performance at the Flower Dome. The dancers were graceful and fluid. It was a royal performance. Everyone was in awe and astonishment during the entire duration of the performance.
On a final note, this visit has not only enlightened and broadened everyone knowledge on the different kind of flora and fauna but also created a memorable and meaningful memory for the class to reminisce together. This is definitely a memory that will be etched in my mind.
