Did you know that our class recently visited the world of fairy tales and plants? Can you guess where? Yes, we went to the Tulipmania Floral Display in Gardens by the Bay!
While planning where to visit over the June holidays, one of my fellow classmates found out that the Tulipmania display would return to Gardens by the Bay in June, just during the school holidays! We believed that this attraction would be worth a visit as it was not just any other garden, but an enchanted universe of folklore, legends, fairy tales , and nursery rhymes, all expressed through flowers! As avid readers of fantasy stories, our class unanimously voted to visit the Tulipmania Floral display, and we did not regret the decision.
Prior to the visit, we searched for more information about the display, such as its opening hours, ticket fees, and more. During our research, we discovered that there were even dance performances and characters on stilts! This made us look forward to our visit even more! The most difficult part of our performance was deciding the perfect date for us to make our trip to the display, because majority of our classmates already had plans to travel overseas, so we had to find a date when everyone was free. On top of that, my classmates and I decided to dress up for the occasion. We rented various costumes, and it was fun to see each other dressed as a special character!
During the visit, we were amazed by the myriad of tulips! Among them all, my favourite flower was the 'Grand Perfection'. This flower is well known for starting off yellow with a red flame, before gradually fading to a white colour as the bloom matures. Like me, many of my classmates were mesmerised by this flower. We took countless pictures of it, along with the other flowers. Next, we watched a special dance performance by people dressed as plants and popular fairy tale characters, such as Goldilocks, Snow White, Red Riding Hood, and more! Their performance was so captivating that the performers received a huge round of applause after it ended! Then, our class swarmed them for photo-taking to keep as a special memento.
After enjoying a whale of time in the Flower Dome, our class had a meal together. This meal was unlike any other class meal. It was filled with jokes and laughter, and it was no doubt that this experience brought our class closer together.
This visit to Gardens by the Bay allowed us to take a break from our busy school life, and bonded our class together like a social gel. Additionally, we learnt several interesting facts about tulips too! This was a valuable experience, and definitely worth it.
