Holidays. A period of time when we sit back and relax, and free ourselves from the stresses of life. I am certain that almost every one of us loves to go on a holiday. But the question is, do we know how to make the best out of our holidays? With Go Travel and its myriad of holidays that hold more than meets the eye, we can definitely take our vacations to the next level.

The holiday that I have chosen is "Vietnam - relax on a river cruise". Singapore is filled with urban architecture and modern designs; even its famous Singapore River looks more like a giant canal than an actual river. On the topic of rivers, it has been always my dream to visit a river, untouched by urbanisation and either the sights of mother nature still intact; like the Mekong River in Vietnam! Just like how the Mekong River has brought a livelihood to many Vietnamese and South-East Asians in both the past and present, it will also add some respite to my life, as the river cleanses my worries away, and provide me with a rejuvenating holiday break and a peace of mind.

So, what exactly does the holiday have to offer that makes it just so appealing? Firstly, you will get a glimpse of rural life along the river bank; a truly enriching experience on a life very different compared to that in Singapore. Travellers will be able to cruise through the river on a local boat called the sampan, and travel to the floating market at Cai Rang; a unique market indeed, as the words "floating" and "market" should not coexist alongside each other. Of course, you will get to feast on local Vietnamese delicacies right here in their home country: pho, rice paper rolls and banh mi and more. Lastly you can end the day off on a relaxed note, by savouring tea with honey in garden houses by the Mekong River.

To add on, travellers like you will have a lot to gain from this one-of-a-kind experience in Vietnam. You can chat with the locals by the Mekong River, and gain insight on how they live their daily lives. You can also learn a thing or two from them, such as weaving bamboo baskets or other traditional crafts. As we live in an increasingly urbanised world, we only get to interact with those around us, and not others on the other side of the story. Therefore, it will, without a doubt, be rewarding to meet and learn from people of another nation and another background.

Go Travel provides us with such an opportunity to have a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of our cities and in a place with a flowing river like no other. Most importantly, do not forget to go travelling with Go Travel!
